A woman has been charged after officials say she aided the man accused of shooting two Mifflin Township police officers on Wednesday night.

According to Franklin County Municipal Court records, Jayla Call, 31, hid 21-year-old Daveonte Dixon inside her home. She was arrested on Saturday.

Court documents state that Call deleted text messages that she had exchanged with Dixon's girlfriend in order to prevent authorities from reviewing them.

Call is charged with obstruction of justice and tampering with evidence. She is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.

Dixon was located by law enforcement officers on Friday evening at an apartment in Obetz.

Officials say Dixon shot himself as officers were preparing to execute a search warrant. He was taken to an area hospital and listed in critical condition.

Authorities say Dixon shot the two officers during a traffic stop in a residential area near the intersection of Mecca Road and Perdue Avenue in Mifflin Township.

One of the officers who was shot is still in the hospital recovering after undergoing two surgeries. The other officer who was shot has been discharged.
