The Columbus school board has named three finalists for the superintendent's position.
The finalist include:
- Interim superintendent Angela Chapman, who previously served as the district's chief of transformation and leadership from 2019-2022
- Brian McDonald, the superintendent of the Pasadena Unified School District in California since 2014
- Eric Thomas, the associate superintendent of Minneapolis Public Schools. He is also a native of Cincinnati.
The finalist will take part in a May 11 public forum with final interviews scheduled for May 15.
The three candidates emerged from a pool of 31 applicants and six semi-finalists.
The district is filling the role, after it was vacated by Talissa Dixon. She's been working in another administrative role after announcing she's retiring at the end of the school year.
