Football Returns To Ohio Stadium In Saturday's Sold-Out Spring Game

Ohio State football fans are about to get their first real look at this year’s team with the annual Spring Game on Saturday.

It’s a yearly tradition of tens of thousands of fans clogging the Ohio State campus and rushing into Ohio Stadium for an intra-squad scrimmage, basically a glorified practice.

The 2017 season brings high hopes for the Buckeyes, who were trounced in the first round of the College Football Playoff by Clemson to end last season.

Leading the Buckeyes into the new season will once again be senior quarterback J.T. Barrett, who could get competition from several talented freshmen, including star recruit Tate Martell.

For spring game attendees, it may be a smaller crowd, with about 20,000 seats still pulled out of the stadium for repairs, but according to Ohio State, the game did sell out with over 82,000 tickets sold. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Saturday and traffic should be heavy around the stadium, but there are no scheduled road closures.
