A man and woman were arrested Tuesday for child endangerment after nine children were found at a Licking County home in what authorities called "appalling and unsafe" living conditions.
The Licking County Sheriff's Office announced the arrests of 37-year-old Jonathan Parr and 32-year-old Jacqueline Coleman on social media Wednesday morning.
The sheriff's office said the living conditions "raised serious concerns for the health, safety, and well-being of the children residing in the home."
Detectives with the sheriff's office searched a home in the 13000 block of National Road SW in Etna Township after receiving claims of child abuse and neglect from Licking County Child Protective Services.
When officials investigated, they found 12 people between the ages of 1 and 64 living at the home. Nine of the people were under the age of 18, authorities say.
All nine children were removed from the home and placed in the custody of Licking County Child Protective Services.
Parr and Coleman are being held at the Licking County Justice Center.
The case remains under investigation and additional charges may be filed. The Licking County Prosecutor's Office will review the case.
