A scheduled hearing for a member of the Siders family is being rescheduled because of flooding in Vinton County.
Christina Siders, the grandmother of 16 children removed from squalid conditions at their Hamden home, was set for a bond hearing Monday afternoon.
However, flooding overnight led to water rescues and a Level 3 Emergency declaration.
A new hearing date for Siders will be set later.
Her attorney argues $300,000 bond is too high as Siders has no means to pay.
Siders, like the other four original defendants in the case, requested a competency evaluation to see if she can even stand trial.
Her husband, Gary Siders Sr., was ruled incompetent earlier this month.
The Vinton County prosecutor has yet to decide if they will drop the case or request he be committed to a facility.
