Tattoo Artist Training Staff At UC To Help Breast Cancer Survivors

A medical tattoo artist is helping to train staff at the University of Cincinnati Cancer Institute on the art of 3D areola tattooing for patients who have undergone mastectomies and breast reconstruction surgery. Beth Fairchild is also a breast cancer survivor.

Fairchild will serve as the keynote speaker for a reception celebrating National Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day at the UC Gardner Neuroscience Institute from 5-7 p.m. Oct. 16. She will give a talk from 6-6:30 on "Medical Tattooing and the Art of 3D Areola Nipple Tattoos."

Joining Cincinnati Edition to discuss the reception and the process of medical tattooing is medical tattooist and METAvivor President Beth Fairchild.
