The Harriet Beecher Stowe House fall discussion series returns with four all-new sessions, beginning Wednesday evening with a look at two works Stowe researched as she was writing Uncle Tom's Cabin.
Discussions will be held the first Wednesday of the month September through December. Discussion leader John Getz will use selections from Uncle Tom’s Cabin as a launch-point each evening to explore contemporary issues and historic connections.
Xavier University Professor Emeritus John Getz, Ph.D., joins Cincinnati Edition along with President of the Friends Association of the Stowe House Chris DeSimio to discuss the Harriet Beecher Stowe House and this fall's lecture series.
The Harriet Beecher Stowe House spring/fall lecture series, Visiting Uncle Tom's Cabin, begins Wednesday, Sept. 4. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the discussion begins at 7 p.m. The Stowe House is located at 2950 Gilbert Avenue. The discussion series is free and open to the public.
