The former Metro bus driver who hit and killed a man in Hyde Park earlier this year, accepted a plea deal Wednesday morning.
Hamilton County Prosecutors agreed to drop vehicular manslaughter charges if Tyrone Patrick pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide. That's a first degree misdemeanor, carrying a penalty of up to 6 months in jail.
The victim was 73-year-old Stephen Frank. His daughter was also hit by the bus.
Cincinnati Police say Patrick made an improper left turn hitting the two in the intersection of Edwards and Erie on January 27, 2016.
Our news partner, WCPO, reports Patrick was a chaplain with the Cincinnati Fire Department and read the Funeral Intercessional for firefighter Daryl Gordon in April, 2015.
Patrick is scheduled to be sentenced on August 12.
