The Ohio State Highway Patrol has cited Rock Casino Caesars Cincinnati, also known as the Horseshoe Casino, for over-serving a patron who allegedly caused a fatal crash March 20, 2016 along I-275 near Kellogg Avenue.
In a release, the OSP's Ohio Investigative Unit says agents were able to determine Cory Lippmeier of Amelia consumed an excessive amount of alcohol at the casino and cited the establishment with "both furnishing beer or intoxicating liquor to an intoxicated person and also sale of beer or intoxicating liquor to an intoxicated person."
Separately, the 35 year old Lippmeier has been charged with vehicular homicide for killing 41 year old Scott Petredis of Milford.
The State Patrol says agents routinely trace-back the source of alcohol following a serious injury or fatal crash.
The Ohio Liquor Control Commission will consider the penalties for the casino. They include fines, as well as suspension or revocation of the liquor permit.
