The zoo will pay Liberty Township $2,750 for each EMS trip to the property for the next five years, regardless of whether EMTs take someone to the hospital.

Columbus Zoo publicized their plans for the new John F. Wolfe Aquarium. The $175 million project will contain more than 1 million gallons of water habitats with more than 10,000 aquatic animals.

The zoo says the hotel is part of its long-term strategy, and zoo officials want visitors to stay longer.

The township said it needs money to help pay for the many runs first responders make to the zoo.

The proposed ADAMH levy is to support operation of mental health, alcohol and drug addiction programs for children, adults and families.

Franklin County voters can expect to see levies for the Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Board and the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. Columbus residents will vote on contested city council and school board races alongside $2 billion in bonds.

In July, Liberty Township trustees voted to impose a $1 fee on Columbus Zoo and Aquarium tickets to help recoup costs for fire and EMS service to the zoo.

The young man wants to see dress code policies that are more inclusive toward trans people at public swimming areas, including Zoombezi Bay, the Columbus Zoo's waterpark.
