When Ohio State football players take the field on Sept. 5, their uniforms will display a Chase Bank sponsorship patch.

They're not only players, but promoters, and in some cases, wealthy athletes thanks to NIL deals. Such is the evolution of college football, especially at elite programs like Ohio State.

And while football garners the most attention, Ohio State has 35 other sports it self-funds.

There's the two-time national championship women's hockey team and Olympic gold medalist Joy Dunne.
