House Speaker Bob Cupp (R-Lima) and Sen. Vernon Sykes (D-Akron), the co-chairs of the Ohio Redistricting Commission, speak to reporters after the commission's meeting on January 18, 2022.

Explain yourselves.

That’s the Ohio Supreme Court's response to the GOP-controlled redistricting commission which adjourned last week without a new map.

The state's high court wants a written explanation for why the commission should not be held in contempt for its failure.

Meanwhile, Ohio remains without maps and without any plans so far to amend the primary schedule and related filing and ballot preparation deadlines.

That’s coming up today on the All Sides with Ann Fisher Weekly Reporter Roundtable.

  • Jeremy Pelzer, reporter, cleveland.com
  • Jo Ingles, reporter, Ohio Public Radio statehouse news bureau
