The Ohio Supreme Court is now mulling motions to throw out the revamped state legislative district maps after voting rights groups again rejected the latest Republican offering heading into the midterm elections.
Chief Justice Maureen O’Connor again is key just as she was when the court voted 4-3 earlier this month that the first plan fell short of the criteria laid out in a 2015 state constitutional amendment. As a Republican, o’connor has attracted the wrath of many in her party.
So, what’s next? Is the latest of the iteration of the legislative maps good enough to pass constitutional muster?
