One Butler County judge has overruled another, telling a Cincinnati hospital that it would not be forced to continue treating a ventilated COVID 19 patient with Ivermectin, an unproven drug better known as an anti-parasitical.
But the beat of the delta variant surge goes on across the country and in Ohio, where the number of cases and hospitalizations continues to climb to the 2020 pre-vaccination peak.
Nationally, President Joe Biden has ordered vaccinations for workers in businesses that employ 100 or more. Locally, Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther has reinstated a mask mandate. But at the state level, Gov. Mike DeWine said there’s no appetite for such a move.
