Diversity in Fashion

Francois Mori
Rihanna showcases new luxury clothing line, Fenty

Rihanna has become the first black woman at the helm of a luxury fashion house in Paris, France.

LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, the world's largest luxury group announced at the beginning of May that Rihanna's clothing brand, Fenty, would be joining the maison.

Rihanna's brand is pushing boundaries in the world of fashion. But, there is still work to be done. The Council of Fashion Designers of America released a report at the beginning of 2019 calling for more focus on diversity and inclusion. In a questionnaire, CFDA found that 41% of respondents rated their fashion companies 3 out of 5 in the level of diversity within thier organization.

Today on All Sides, the challenge of diversity in fashion.
