After decades of indecision on the issue, the U.S. Supreme Court is beginning to consider cracking down on the widespread practice of gerrymandering, which manipulates district lines to favor one political party over the other. States such as Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Virginia, and Ohio have been at the forefront of the issue.
