  • By the time the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections opened at 8 a.m. Tuesday for the first day of early voting, hundreds of voters — most of them wearing masks — were lined up, ready to cast ballots. Bundled-up South Euclid resident Tristan Fritz came prepared to wait in a long line of early voters. She took the day off from work and brought a lunch. "If I want change, it starts with me," Fritz said. "It's totally worth the wait in line. Our ancestors fought for this opportunity and it would be horrible of me to not exercise my right to vote."
  • Young people in the Cleveland area will have access to three free meals a day during the extended spring break that begins next week. Cleveland Metropolitan School District CEO Eric Gordon said Friday that the district will host 22 sites where any person under the age of 18 can pick up a two-meal package containing breakfast and lunch. The service will operate between 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., Monday-Friday. CMSD will provide shuttle service to the nearest host site from all its pre-K thru 8 school buildings.
