Cleveland Health Officials Tracking June Jump In COVID-19 Cases
Cleveland has seen a spike in new coronavirus cases in June, public health officials told city council on Monday. For 103 new patients, initial symptoms trace back to the third week of June, according to a city health department presentation. That was a jump over the prior two weeks, but below symptom onset numbers for earlier in May. The city reported 75 new cases on Sunday, the biggest daily increase in Cleveland's case count to date. Health Director Merle Gordon said those numbers were not reflected in her presentation to city council.

Cuyahoga County's Demand For COVID-19 Vaccine Far Outpacing Supply
Cuyahoga County health officials are expecting to receive far fewer COVID-19 vaccine doses than the number of residents now eligible to receive it. The county begins Phase 1B of vaccination distribution this week, Health Commissioner Terry Allan told county council Tuesday, using the limited number of doses delivered so far.

Cleveland Clinic Creates New Hospital Space For COVID-19 Patients
Cleveland Clinic and Case Western Reserve University are converting their new health education campus into a 1,000 bed hospital space, to help handle the expected surge of COVID-19 patients, said Dr. Ed Sabanegh, president of the clinic’s main campus. Clinic officials have been using scientific models to predict the number of patients that may need care and the number of hospital beds needed, said Sabanegh.
