The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce is launching an investigation into Columbus City Schools and its spring 2026 state tests.
In a news release, ODE said that the district self-reported "anomalies" with testing results at Independence and Walnut Ridge high schools.
"CCS closely monitors test results and saw irregularities at two high schools this spring, starting an internal investigation," Columbus City spokesman Michael Brown said in a statement.
Brown did not elaborate on the "irregularities" in the tests.
Columbus City Schools will invalidate spring scores for all state tests in all subjects at the two schools. Students will have the chance to retake tests over the summer or during the next school year.
ODE said information about the "anomalies" was also sent to the State Board of Education's Office of Professional Conduct.
Brown said the district will work with ODE on the investigation and will increase monitoring and training for staff who oversee testing.
"CCS is committed to testing fidelity and giving students every chance to succeed," Brown said.
