A Columbus-area high school is closing, but we won t soon forget the athletic achievements of the school. The Blue Jackets are in a tight battle for the playoffs. March Madness is underway. This week's episode of After The Score is packed with sporting news.

Athletic memories of a closing high school

Brookhaven High School has seen its share of championship teams and alumni go on the pros. But there won’t be anymore: Earlier this month Columbus City Schools administrators voted to close Brookhaven and send students to nearby schools. This week After The Score is joined by Hali Robinson, who’s spent 39 years coaching several sports at Brookhaven.

Brookhaven has seen its share of great athletes walk the halls: Paul O’Neill, Ron Lewis, Drew Lavender, Terry Glenn and, as Hali points out, many many more.

Blue Jackets (8:35)

The Blue Jackets continue their late-season playoff push. They're currently in the playoffs, but that could very easily change since their seed seems to change after every game. They lost a shootout to San Jose, then beat Minnsota in a shootout, then lost in regulation against Carolina on Tuesday. WOSU Public Media’s After The Score talked to Columbus Dispatch beat writer Aaron Portzline (@aportzline) about the remainder of the season.

March Madness (15:22)

The WOSU Bracket Challenge is underway. The field is set and Thomas and Steve have challenged their coworkers to a friendly competition in the form of a March Madness challenge. They discuss who to pick, who they are picking, and some interesting story lines to watch out for.
