The Struggle To Fill Nationwide Arena

Thomas Bradley / WOSU
The Columbus Blue Jackets hockey team fights for a faceoff in a pre-season game in September of 2013.

This week on the After The Score Podcast we pose an uncomfortable question surrounding the Columbus Blue Jackets: why can’t Nationwide Arena sell out?

We talk with Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch about the struggle to fill the seats. When then quickly shift to the gridiron sport, but not exactly as you know it today. There’s no NFL presence in Columbus right now, but we’ll talk with Chris Willis of NFL Films about how the NFL wouldn’t and couldn’t be what it is today without the help of one man and his hometown: Columbus, Ohio.

Also, in our Back-and-Forth segment, co-hosts Steve Brown and Thomas Bradley talk about the state of the Cleveland Browns and the search to find a new head coach.
