A Columbus police officer has been charged with strangulation after an alleged domestic incident with his girlfriend.
Timothy Fuller, 42, was arrested early Wednesday morning by Hilliard police.
According to court documents, Fuller and his girlfriend got into an argument Tuesday morning at her home in west Columbus.
The woman claimed Fuller pushed her onto a bed and then sat on top of her and put his hands around her throat and neck until she lost consciousness.
The woman said she had no memory of how she got from the bed to the floor.
After she woke up, the woman said they began to argue again and Fuller allegedly assaulted her a second time and refused to let her call police. She said Fuller placed his arm around her neck in a headlock style and applied pressure to her neck.
She said she lost consciousness and woke up face down on the side of the bed. She said Fuller then assaulted her with a piece of brown leather.
Once Fuller left for work, the woman got in her car and drove until she found police. She was taken to a hospital to get checked out.
As of Wednesday afternoon, Columbus police have not commented on the case.
Fuller is scheduled to appear in court Thursday morning.
