A federal grand jury has indicted the Delaware man who allegedly had multiple guns near John Glenn Columbus International Airport in January.

The indictment returned Thursday charges William T. Griffith, 40, with illegally possessing firearms as a convicted felon.

The court documents said that law enforcement officers responded to a 911 call around 4 a.m. on Jan. 9 about someone trespassing in a construction area. Officers went to the scene and found Griffith.

The indictment said Griffith had a rifle, pistol and a revolver.

The indictment also said that body armor with ceramic plates and a ballistic helmet with night vision were found nearby. When Griffith was arrested he was wearing military-style fatigue trousers.

In 2011, Griffith was convicted of kidnapping. That conviction prohibited him from possessing firearms or ammunition.
