Three people were killed and two were injured in a fire around 2:15 a.m. Tuesday near Reynoldsburg.

Columbus Division of Fire Battalion Chief Jeffrey Geitter said two men and a woman died at a home in the 2900 block of Freedom Trail Drive. The home sits in a neighborhood between Gender Road and Tussing Road on the city's southeast side.

Geitter said the house filled with smoke during the fire.

A woman and a child jumped from a second-story window and survived, Geitter said. Both were taken to area hospitals.

As of late Tuesday morning, the woman is reported to be stable, while the child is at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in critical condition.

The victims' identities have not been released. Geitter said it’s not yet clear whether the people are related.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
