Morrow County Sheriff's Deputy Daniel Sherrer was shot and killed May 26, 2025 while responding to a domestic situation.

The man charged in the fatal shooting of a Morrow County sheriff's deputy on Memorial Day pleaded not guilty Tuesday to 14 charges including aggravated murder.

A Morrow County judge increased the bond for Brian Michael Wilson from $5 million to $9 million.

Wilson, 53, was indicted earlier this month. He is charged in the death of Morrow County Sheriff's Deputy Daniel Sherrer.

Sherrer was killed after responding to a domestic violence call north of Marengo. He was a four-year-veteran of the department.

Morrow County Prosecutor Andrew Wick will seek the death penalty against Wilson.

Wilson's next court date is Aug. 25.
