Reds broadcaster Thom Brennaman has been suspended from working Cincinnati’s games after using an anti-gay slur on air.
Brennaman used the slur moments after the Fox Sports Ohio feed returned from a commercial break, before the top of the seventh inning in the first game of a doubleheader at Kansas City. Brennaman did not seem to realize he was already on-air and later apologized.
Brennaman was pulled from the broadcast in the fifth inning of the second game. The Reds say they will “be addressing our broadcasting team in the coming days.”

Brennaman, a Fox NFL announcer since 1994 and part of the Reds TV team since 2007, told viewers that he was "very, very sorry, and I beg for your forgiveness."
"I don't know if I'll be putting on this headset again. I don't know if it's going to be for the Reds, I don't know if it's going to be for my bosses at Fox," Brennaman, 56, told Fox Sports Ohio viewers.
Some Reds players denounced the use of the slur and tweeted their support of the LGBTQ community.
