Delaware County voters on Tuesday approved three ballot requests from the Olentangy School District.
The district's request appeared on the ballot in three parts: an operating levy, an improvement levy and a bond issue for three new schools. Voters approved the levies by a margin of 57-43%.
Olentangy Schools requested the fundsbecause of their growing student population and relatively low state funding.
"I am proud of our community for recognizing that strong schools are essential to our collective well-being," Superintendent Mark T. Raiff said in a statement. "The One Olentangy spirit demonstrated by the community’s support is wonderful. Together we are paving the way for a successful future where our students and community continue to flourish."
It was the district’s 10th ballot issue in 21 years. The levies will raise taxes by $277 a year for every $100,000 of home value.
