The Ross County Sheriff's Office says two people are dead and two others suffered life-threatening injuries in what appear to be connected crimes.

The sheriff's office says deputies found the two injured people on Vigo Road near Londonderry around 4 p.m. Monday. The sheriff’s office says the male and female victims were “violently assaulted.” Both were taken to Grant Medical Center in Columbus.

While working at the Vigo Road scene, deputies learned of another scene in Chillicothe where two people were found fatally shot inside a home. The sheriff’s office says the victims were a male and female, but did not provide their names.

The sheriff’s office said the crimes appear to be connected, but did not say why.

No suspects were reported.

The Ross County Sheriff’s Office, the U.S. 23 Major Crimes Task Force and Ohio’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation were all expected to be involved in the investigation.
