According to university officials, 19 apartments were tested at random and 5 were found to have elevated lead levels. Residents have been advised not to drink or cook with the water and bottled water is being provided by OSU.
Senior Keria Hites and her two-year-old daughter moved into an apartment at Buckeye Village last week. Hites says the water in her apartment has not yet been tested but she's concerned it could test positive.
Hites says she hasn't prepared housing anywhere else yet, but is thankful that the university is letting people out of their leases if they need to.
University officials say they've already begun testing and re-testing all apartment units. It could take up to a week to receive any results.
