Now how about some music fit to woo your Valentine?

On Air

This Valentine’s Day, Classical 101 has music to accompany whatever you have planned for your beau.

On Saturday, I am looking forward to waking up with Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata Op. 27, no. 2 played by Valentina Lisitsa and Frederick Delius’s Orchestral Suite during the 8am and 9am hours.

Later in the morning, around the time for my second cup of coffee, Cole Porter and George Gershwin will swing into the mix on air, and around noon Bernstein’s Somewhere and Richard Roger’s Something Good will bring the lighthearted theatrical music for the lunch hour. You can listen on the radio or by downloading WOSU’s free app and let Classical 101 set the mood.

Saturday at 2pm and 8pm BalletMet Columbus’s Great Gatsby retells F. Scott Fitzgerald’s great American novel with music and dance.

On the Web

Aside from listening to Classical 101 on your mobile device, you can also enjoy a special Classical Valentine’s Playlist from Deutsche Grammophon free on Spotify. The second track is my personal favorite; the Prelude from Tristan und Isolde.
