A Delaware County jury Friday found a truck driver guilty of multiple charges for causing a nine-vehicle crash along I-71 in Delaware County that killed a family of three, including an infant.
The jury found Modou F. Ngom, 50, guilty of three counts of aggravated vehicular homicide and five counts of vehicular assault.
The chain-reaction crash happened in a construction zone near the Route 36/37 interchange on April 11.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said in April its preliminary investigation found Ngom, of Columbus, failed to stop while approaching a traffic backup in a construction zone.
The crash took place just before 6:30 p.m. that day and shut down both sides of the interstate for several hours.
The jury deliberated for about two hours on Friday before reaching a verdict.
A judge is scheduled to sentence Ngom on Oct. 29. Ngom faces a maximum of 22 1/2 years in prison.
