The Trailblazer Adventure is a family friendly end of summer activity that gets you outside and points out places of interest along the hiking, biking, and paddling sections of this triathlon. Think you know the bike trail out of Spring Valley’s Walton Park? Join the Trailblazer Adventure and test your knowledge about concrete houses eagles nest, fens, riparian buffers, and much more! Pick your date, time, speed, and the amount of the trail you want to explore.

The University of Dayton's Erma Bombeck Writers' Workshop is seeking essays from a diversity of authors of all experience levels for Nickie’s Prize for Humor Writing. Essayists, authors, bloggers — anyone with a hilarious touching story — is invited to about their sister (or soul sister). The deadline is August 1.

Two local famous places are now open. The Dayton Art Institute is opening today, and when it’s hot and humid that’s a perfect place to be inside.Check out their rules at their .

The other place that is now open is the Aullwood Audubon. Their gives special info about the opening.

On Saturday there are two big “garage” sales where you can get lots of stuff. In the morning, the recently closed Memorial Presbyterian Church at1541 S. Smithville Road is having their sale 9am to 1pm. Go into Craigslist-Dayton and search for parking lot and you can see what you can buy.

Then, the Friends of the Dayton Metro Library are having a one-day sale. It's at the Columbian Hall, 4704 Burkhardt Ave which is the site of the future Burkhardt Branch Library. It’s Saturday, 8am to 4pm.
