The University of Dayton Human Rights Center is hosting a community forum at The Fitz Center this week called "Six Months On: Gun Violence in Dayton and the U.S." The forum will act as a commemoration of the victims of the 2019 shooting in Dayton's Oregon District, and provide a space for dialogue, proposals, and healing in the community. Shelley Inglis, Director of the Dayton Human Rights Center, and Paul Morrow, a Fellow in the University of Dayton's Human Rights Department, came to WYSO's Excursions to speak with Niki Dakota about the event and the time that has passed since the shooting in August 2019.

"Six Months On: Gun Violence in Dayton and the U.S." will be hosted by the University of Dayton Human Rights Center this Tuesday, February 4th starting at 2 PM at the Fitz Center in Dayton. More information can be found at UDayton.edu.

Evan Miller is a percussionist, lover of sound, and is probably buying too many cassette tapes online right now. Evan got his start in radio in 2012 at WWSU at Wright State University, where he was studying percussion performance. He followed through with both endeavors and eventually landed a lucrative dual career playing experimental music at home and abroad and volunteering at WYSO. Maintaining a connection to normal music, Evan also plays drums in bands, and fills in for Niki Dakota on Excursions. When not doing something music-related, Evan is most likely listening to podcasts or watching food videos at home with his cat.
