Miami Valley filmmaker and musician Dale Farmer is bringing his award-winning film The Mountain Minor to the Little Art Theatre this Thursday night. The film's story centers on the migration of Appalachian musical traditions sourced from Eastern Kentucky, and employed numerous musicians near and far in the cast, including Elizabeth LaPrelle from the duo Anna & Elizabeth. Farmer, along with local musicians Ma Crow and members of the Corndrinkers, stopped by WYSO's studios to talk with Niki Dakota on Excursions to talk about the film, and play some of the traditional Appalachian music featured in the film.

Dale Farmer's film The Mountain Minor will be showing at the Little Art Theatre this Thursday at 7 PM, with a performance from The Corndrinkers to start off the show at 6:30 PM. More information for the showing can be found at LittleArt.com, and more information on the film can be found at TheMountainMinorMovie.com.

Evan Miller is a percussionist, lover of sound, and is probably buying too many cassette tapes online right now. Evan got his start in radio in 2012 at WWSU at Wright State University, where he was studying percussion performance. He followed through with both endeavors and eventually landed a lucrative dual career playing experimental music at home and abroad and volunteering at WYSO. Maintaining a connection to normal music, Evan also plays drums in bands, and fills in for Niki Dakota on Excursions. When not doing something music-related, Evan is most likely listening to podcasts or watching food videos at home with his cat.
