Election 2016: Your Voice

To get a sense of how people across the Miami Valley are reacting to the results of last night's presidential election, WYSO News talked to voters in Greene and Montgomery Counties. Here's some of what they had to say.

Sporting a Trump button, Tim Rowland of Beavercreek was pleased by Trump's victory.

"I think he is what this country needs," Rowland says.  "It's a long hard fight, but he did it right."

Kristen Shattuck of Yellow Springs says she was devastated by the outcome of the race.

"I'm very sad for my children, who are biracial," she says. "We're seriously considering making an exodus."

Other voters say they were apprehensive about voting for either Trump or Hillary Clinton for president this year.

"I wasn't a big fan of either of them," says Courtney Platt of Dayton, who voted for Trump. "I just voted for the least bad [candidate] I guess, from what I thought."
