Ohio AFL-CIO Continues Support Of Clinton In Presidential Race

State labor leaders are reiterating their support behind presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. In a news conference scheduled for this morning in Dayton, AFL-CIO President, Tim Burga, will be joined by trade and manufacturing association leaders to expand on the endorsement the group issued in May

“In her first hundred days in office she has a plan to invest 10 billion dollars in American manufacturing—the largest investment in American manufacturing since World War II—and an investment in infrastructure, building and construction not seen since the Eisenhower interstate highway project in the fifties,” said Burga.

Burga says there is a “clear contrast” between the candidates this fall and believes Donald Trump is unqualified for the office.

According to the organization's website, "the Ohio AFL-CIO was formed in 1958 to battle a right-to-work campaign backed by Ohio Republicans and big businesses." The union represents 500,000 workers in Ohio.
