The mayor of Blue Ash has died while on vacation in France. Thomas Adamec died from complications from an auto-immune disease he'd been fighting for several years, according to a Blue Ash spokeswoman.
Rachel Murray says Adamec was first appointed to the Blue Ash city council in April 2009, and elected later that year. He was sworn in as vice mayor in 2013 and became mayor in 2017.
"Tom devoted his life to serving others. He was a great friend, husband, father, and mayor and will be sorely missed," says Vice Mayor Marc Sirkin. "The City of Blue Ash has lost an important, caring leader."
Adamec served on the Blue Ash Civic League, and as a tutor at Operation Give Back. He was past president of the Sycamore Schools Planning Commission, and a board member of OKI Regional Board of Governments. He served as treasurer of the Greater Cincinnati Master Gardner Association.
He is survived by his wife, Diane and two daughters. Funeral services are pending.
