Ohio River Predicted To Crest Wednesday

The Ohio River was at 50-and-a-half feet Monday morning and slowly rising. More rain on Tuesday will send it out of its banks, said Jeff Sites, lead forecaster at the National Weather Service.

"Looking at it cresting Wednesday morning at around 56 feet," Sites says. Flood stage is 52 feet. The Ohio is not the only river rising.  "The Great Miami along with the Little Miami will probably see rises again and some points are expected to go back into flood," Sites says.

Covington will install a floodwall Monday at the foot of Madison Avenue. A release says the crane will arrive in the late morning to begin the 10-hour process of installing the gate at the Madison Overlook.
