Trombone Shorty

This week's blues show at 11pm, Saturday, August 18th, is a trip down the Mississippi to New Orleans, because Trombone Shorty's Voodoo Threauxdown tour is coming to PNC Pavilion Saturday night, August 25th.

During this one-hour New Orleans special, you'll hear music from some of the musicians who'll be on the PNC stage.  The first set begins with two songs by one of my favorite bands, Galactic, followed by another couple of songs by Walter "Wolfman" Washington.

The second set features three songs by Trombone Shorty from his "Say That To Say This" album.  Music from two of the Nevilles, Ivan and Cyril, are included in the third set.  And finally, the show ends with Kermit Ruffins ( who I first heard in Tower Records with the Rebirth Brass Band at a Jazz Fest many years ago) and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band.
