Oak Hill School Levy Goes Down By 3-1 Margin

Voters in the Oak Hills School District overwhelmingly rejected a tax levy increase in Tuesday's special election.

Seventy-six percent of voters vetoed the 4.9 mill levy. School officials say it was needed to avoid a deficit for the suburban school district. About 30 percent of the money raised by the levy would have paid for security measures at Oak Hills Schools.

The levy was the only issue on the ballot in southwest Ohio in Tuesday's election. Voter turnout in the district was nearly 38 percent.
