When Bobbi Maxwell quit Cincinnati radio after 30 years in 2016, she wanted to explore doing voice work. The move has paid off, with her voice on two national cable TV shows.

Maxwell, WARM98 afternoon drive host from 1997-2016, narrates two "In Defense Of" episodes on Oxygen.

"Timothy McVeigh: In Defense Of" airs Saturday, June 30, at 9 a.m. and 8 p.m., and Sunday, July 1, at 10 a.m. The show features defense attorneys Chris Tritico and Stephen Jones talking about representing Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh and trying to spare him the death penalty in his 1997 capital murder trial. It premiered Monday, June 25.

"Waco: Clive Doyle: In Defense Of" premieres 8 p.m. Monday, July 2, and repeats at 11 p.m. Doyle, a member of David Koresch's sect, was one of the nine survivors of the 1993 fire at the Branch Davidian cult compound near Waco, Texas.

"I'm having a blast, and feel like everything has led me to be where I am today," said Maxwell, a Lakota High School graduate who started at the school’s WLHS-FM (with former WVXU-FM newsman Mark Heyne). She also worked for WWNK-FM, WKRQ-FM, Hamilton's old WSKS-FM and Dayton's WTUE-FM. While at WINK-FM, she was honored as one of Billboard magazine’s top five large-market adult contemporary music directors and DJs.

"In Defense Of" producers found her through an online casting site, she says.

"They were looking for reporter/newscaster actors in the specs. I'm really trying to build my tv/cable promotion work, and thought this could be a good connection," she says.

"I also just did a job as a British soccer announcer for a series that's currently running on Fox Sports called 'Phenoms,' just in time for the World Cup," she adds.
