King Records Special About Their Rockabilly Artists

Beginning this Saturday night, June 16th at 11pm, on The Blues, we're going to repeat some of the many specials I've produced over the years since 2007 about King Records and the talented musicians who recorded there.  This King Records special begins with a 2010 phone conversation I had with Bill Beach who was born in Glencoe Kentucky in 1932.

Rockabilly as a musical genre came into its own in the 1950’s, and Syd Nathan jumped on the bandwagon recording many rockabilly songs at King Records.  Some of the musicians you’ll hear about tonight include Bill Beach, Bonnie Lou, Charlie Feathers, Rusty York, and Mac Curtis

Randy McNutt talked with Bonnie Lou in our studio on November 26th, 2007, and Stuart Holman also sat down with Rusty York in 2007.  Since this interview, Rusty passed away January 26th , 2014 at the age of 78.
