Cincinnati School Board Accepting Applications To Fill Vacancy

Starting Tuesday at 10 a.m., the Cincinnati Public School Board of Education will begin accepting applications to fill the seat left vacant when Lannis Timmons resigned May 2. Applications can be found Applicants must also submit a cover letter, references and a resume.

In a release, the board said it will meet May 21 to review applications and choose candidates for interviews. Interviews will be held May 25. 

The Board appointed Timmons in October 2017 to fill the seat left vacant when Chris Nelms died. The newly appointed member would serve out the rest of Nelms term, which runs through December 2019. 

The board says it will announce the appointment no later than June 1, the deadline set by state statute.
