May 7 through May 11 has been designated In-Demand Jobs Week in Ohio, a celebration of jobs, industries and skills that are most in-demand in the state. Career opportunities continue to increase in healthcare, transportation, engineering, information technology and several other industries. And many of the jobs available don't require a four-year college degree.
This week, organizations throughout the state will offer programs to help students and job seekers learn and get excited about careers that are available and in-demand in their local communities.
Joining "Cincinnati Edition" to discuss career and training opportunities in Ohio are Great Oaks Career Campuses Dean of Student Services, Nancy Mulvey; Southwest Ohio Region Workforce Investment Board President & CEO, Sherry Kelley Marshall; Director of the Workforce Development Center at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College, Cheryl Brackman; and Manager of Learning Services with CET Connect, Jason Dennison.
This program is part of an ongoing series, "American Graduate: Getting to Work," supported by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, in partnership with CET.
"The Sharonville Works! Job Expo," co-sponsored by the Sharonville Economic Department, takes place Thursday, May 10, from 2 to 7 p.m. at the Sharonville Convention Center.
