Deep Purple & Chris Stapleton on The Blues!

This week's blues show, 11pm Saturday night, May 5th will feature a variety of musicians including Chris Stapleton and Deep Purple.  The first set begins with Alabama Mike from a compilation release in honor of Howlin' Wolf.  This tune's followed by Howlin' Wolf, R.L. Burnside, and The Medicine Men with Lance Boyd who'll be performing Friday, May 11th on the Cincinnati Guitar Festival stage at the Madison Theater in Covington.  Brian O'Donnell previews the event with Bob Nave in an interview that'll air on VXU's "Around Cincinnati" program Sunday night, May 6th at 7pm.

The second set of The Blues starts off with acoustic Buddy Guy and Junior Wells and then the Kentucky Headhunters, Deep Purple, and Chris Stapleton.  Chris Stapleton's coming to Riverbend October 4th with his All-American Road Show tour,  And, Deep Purple's coming to Riverbend August 21st with Judas Priest. Buddy Guy's got a new album coming out June 15th called, "The Blues is Alive and Well." The album features guests Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Jeff Beck and James Bay.  

Stevie Ray Vaughan begins the third set with "The Things I Used to Do," and also heard in that set, Curtis Salgado and Bill Withers.  The show ends with music from Al Jarreau, the Goshorn Brothers, and Jonny Lang who's coming to the Rose Music Center July 11th.
