What Can Hamilton County Leaders Do To Curb Gun Violence?

Hamilton County commissioners may ask the county prosecutor to investigate steps the board can take to curb gun violence.

Board President Todd Portune wants a report on specific actions the county can take to prevent access to "weapons of mass killing by gun."

He says it's time to stand up and make sure "our nation begins to take appropriate steps toward eradicating the kind of gun violence - mass gun violence - and killings that we have borne witness to for far too long."

He introduced the first draft of a resolution Wednesday and would like a vote next week.

Portune also wants to somehow incentivize private companies to develop weapon scanning technologies to protect places such as schools.Gun Resolution by WVXU News on Scribd
