Congratulations to George and Amal Clooney!
"This morning Amal and George welcomed Ella and Alexander Clooney into their lives. Ella, Alexander and Amal are all healthy, happy and doing fine. George is sedated and should recover in a few days," said the couple in a statement Tuesday, according to People magazine.
The twins arrived in early June as Julie Chen had said on CBS' "The Talk" in February, when news broke that the Clooneys were expecting.
It's the first child for George Clooney, 56, the Kentucky native who married Amal, 39, a London-based attorney, in September 2014. The Oscar-winning actor is the son of Nina and former TV anchor Nick Clooney of Augusta.
Clooney didn't attend an Armenian awards ceremony last week to accept a humanitarian award because of Amal's due date. "If I came there and my wife had twins while I was there, I could never come home," Clooney said in his acceptance video.
