The official dedication for the Lincoln Grant Scholar House in Covington takes place April 5.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau's 2011-2015 American Community Survey, 18.5 percent of people in Kentucky live below the poverty level. One of the challenges to reducing poverty is for communities to provide access to affordable housing.

Joining us to discuss efforts to lift individuals and families out of poverty through affordable housing options are Northern Kentucky Community Action Commission (NKCAC) Executive Director, Florence Tandy; Brighton Center President & CEO, Tammy Weidinger; and Executive Director for The Center for Great Neighborhoods of Covington, Tom DiBello.

The Northern Kentucky Community Action Commission operates the Lincoln Grant Scholar House in Covington. The Brighton Center operates the Northern Kentucky Scholar House in Newport.

The next Northern Kentucky Forum, co-hosted by the Cincinnatus Association, will focus on Poverty and Our Children: What We Need to Know. The Forum will be held at the Lincoln Grant Scholar House in Covington from 6:45 PM - 8:15 PM on April 11. For more information and reservations, click here.
