Those of us who are loyal National Public Radio listeners will be waking up to a slightly different "Morning Edition" team after West Coast host Renee Montagne switches to day shift by the end of the year.

Reporter and "Weekend Edition Sunday" host Rachel Martin will co-host weekday mornings from Washington with longtime co-host Steve Inskeep starting in December. Co-host David Greene will move from NPR's Washington, D.C., main studios in early 2017 to replace Montagne out West.

Montagne announced in July that she was leaving "Morning Edition" after a dozen years of arriving to work at midnight. She will become a special correspondent.

Lulu Garcia-Navarro, NPR's South America reporter, will replace Martin as Sunday morning host on Jan. 8.

Greene will work in the Los Angeles suburb of Culver City with newscaster Dwane Browne and "All Things Considered" co-host Kelly McEvers.
