Indiana Governor and Republican Vice Presidential candidate Mike Pence stopped in the Dayton area Wednesday as a part of his tour through mid-western swing states. About 300 people attended the town hall meeting.
Pence spent the majority of his 30-minute speech following up on Republican Donald Trump’s Monday talk on fiscal policy.
"And when Donald Trump becomes president," said Pence. "He’s going to fight every day to cut taxes on working families, small businesses, and family farms, roll back red tape, repeal Obamacare and end the war on coal once and for all and get this economy moving as never before."
Pence then fielded audience questions, several of which centered on the economy and veterans issues.
Audience member Tim Hammel says he originally supported Governor John Kasich’s presidential run, but will now vote for Trump.
"I'm supporting that campaign because I think we need someone in office that can stir things up a little bit, understands the economy, and can try to get us on track in that area. And having Pence as a balance I think is important because he can work with congress."
From Dayton, Pence headed east to an evening speech in Cambridge, Ohio.
